Japanese saws cut wood with pulling force, not pushing force. It can cut accurately with less effort.

About Double Edge Saw (RYOBA)

Two different blades on a saw. One is for cutting along the grain called “rip cut”, and the other is for cutting across the grain, called “cross cut”.
